Week 14 Outside of class

When looking at all of the work that I did to make this graphic it made me realize that i really want to redo the style. Eventhought I knew that I didnt exactly like it from the beggining now im even more motivated to make changes to the overall design.

Week 14 B

Some of the finished elements that I will be working with for the morphology project. One of the things that I think ill change is the look of some of the elements. I decided to incorporate textures but I think that I'm going to go back and make them flat graphics instead. I feel like this is too far out of my illustration style and I cannot have fun with this. which is something that I was told to approach with this project.

Week 13 A

Today in class was the final work day that I could have and recive feedback. The main thing that i had to do was finish making changes and adding some of the final scenes.

All of the scenes that I made were on the yellow background this time and in order to keep consistant type I had to go and change the font on the blue backgrounds to yellow 

Week 12 B

Some of the updates that I made: 

• Fire now does not have the bottom on the screen 
• Phone to record transition has been revised
• most of the items now transition off-screen as well 

Week 12A

Feedback from my classmates.

• Director should be a different color to make it stand out from the names to
• add a fether to the type masks 
• have the phone hang up 
• don't have the line between the record 
• all the backgrounds work well just adjust the one with the lips there's a little line at the back 
• adjust the timing to make the different elements appear longer. 
• maybe have the opacity drop on the smoke from the car 
• keep the lines constant until it hangs up 
• Johnny Depp scene is too short 
• play around with the stroke sizes on the fonts 
• love the colors and the styles 
• all the backgrounds work very well together. 

Week 11 Outside of class

Updates-

• adjusting closed caps on record 
• adjusting the stroke on the bottle 
• adding the fire scene 
• adjusting the phones angle 
• incorporating the other backgrounds

Problems- 

• Making the fire come up straight and then shuffle 
• changing the way the record transitions 
• adding more names 
• making the subtitles under the names 

Week 11 B

Today in class one of the most important things that we did was sit down to have a meeting about where we needed to take our project. Some of the feedback that I got was:

• Work on adjusting the timing 
• Titles are the most important to make sure they have enough time on the screen
• add more fire to give depth 
• adjust the duration of sections to make them stay on screen longer 
• changing backgrounds work well 
• look into adjusting the typography 
• change typeface on record 
• stagger some names 

After receiving this feedback it made me think about some things that I had in place for this project. I decided to go back and look to see if there was any other font that I felt was effective. 

I thought that this one worked better with the theme and also on the record. 

Week 11 A

Week 10 Outside of class

I was really working on making sure that I was able to have the car move across the screen. One of the videos that I watched was this guy using built-in presets to make the smoke effect.




After figuring out the effect I applied it to the car.

Redone animation

Week 9 Outside of class

For my test animation, I decided to make the phone scene. After working with the animation I think that it would be beneficial to make the phone more animated. I'm trying to figure out to make the lines more fun. As for now, I think that I may make a wiggle line somehow to have more of the 50's fun feel to it.

Week 9 B

Today in class we were able to meet and discuss which idea would be the best. It seems as if the best idea for the overall project is the flat cut paper look. One of the suggestions that I received was to cut down the drop shadow on the design. Originally I thought that this would help with the cut paper look but, a black stroke does virtually the same thing.
 
Also during class I was able to draw up the next screen and I think that so far im doing a good joba t keeping an overall consistant style.

week 9A

Scrapbook idea: I decided to combine the idea of cut paper and realistic photos in order to give it a fun look.  

Cut paper: I really wanted o give it more of a flat cut paper. I at first used a plain baby blue background, but I wanted to have more of texture so I thought of adding in the teardrops to tie the crybaby feel back together. 

For the neon lights one I decided to do two color variations. mainly because I wanted to really have the 50's vibe. So at first, I was going with the pink outline of the car, but the Brynna suggested the teal.

Week 8 B

This class we began working on some of the different ideas that we have for title sequences. We basically had to begin to think about the different ideas and styles we wanted to incorporate. this also included us making some of the different typographic choices.




Old neon sign- Since crybaby takes place in the 50s I decided to go with a more neon sign look since it was popular then. I think by taking different elements and using their outlined shape and making them glow, would really be a unique style for a title sequence. I've worked with managing different strokes in illustrator so now bringing that into after effects would be interesting.

Textures- Another idea that I had was having a lot of textures being used in each of the elements. Like the lips would have a more realistic texture, the car would look shiny, and the hair would be frizzy. basically noting would be perfect and it would have almost a pee wee playhouse look

Cut paper- For this idea, I plan on using simple shades and shadows in order to have the elements pop off the page. I think that the most interesting thing would be seeing all the separate elements come together using the different drop shadows on the signature crybaby blue background.

Scrapbook- My last idea would be combining the elements of the cut paper with actual photos from the movie. I really like this idea and think that it would be fun to make. Since it would be combining different aspects of the movie with little elements to represent them.

Plot summary of Cry Baby-

Week 8A

Suicide Squad - When I began looking into the title sequence for suicide squad it was non-existing. now later I will rewatch the movie to make sure. but like some of the other dc movies they tend to go right into the movie after showing the Warner Brothers logo and they begin showing the movie. So what I'm thinking is creating the title sequence for the movie in a papercut style showcasing some of the leads. I don't think that I would make individual scenes for each character but more so help to highlight the different scenes.





Cry Baby-  I think that crybaby is another good choice since the title sequence is just right over the beginning o the film. it almost looks like a sitcom, which I think is really helping to represent what the film is about. I think that really for a fun whimsical film like this one there could really b something more fun going on.










Batman forever- this movie does have a title sequence but I think that it could use some improvement just like the others I don't think that this does a good idea of showing what the film is really about. it contains some simple morphology aspects to the film but nothing much.

Week 6 A

Today in class we met and received feedback on the 15% animation. Some of the Feeback that I received was to rework the people that I had initially included. I started off by making three different people and then developed them further. I thought that the last one was the strongest since in a way it was the most human-like. So after picking that sketch, I decided to remake it in illustrator.

  After remaking all the people I had to then go and place them back into the animation. I do feel like these people will work better to go along with the hand drawn elements of the animation.

 Outside of the class was sent defining the different styles that we were thinking of using. I was torn between 4 different to use. I wanted to use something that incorporated highlights or fun organic shapes.

Today in class we had a consultation about the diffrent approaches to how we wanted to display the information. One of the suggestions that I recieved was to use more words in my design. I was already encouperating a little bit of typography but I ultimatley should add more to make it a more dominant feature.

Today in class we were working on making some of the thumbnail sketches for the beginning of the motion design.  I was working on, for the most part, making things very literal. That way things can be understood eaisly.

Today in class I was working on filling out all the diffrent sections that I would need for my visual Narrative.

This video is showing a Visual goal that i will be looking to incorporate as well. I enjoy the way all the elements have this same pop up motion. Its like all the individual objects move together, to create one large product as a whole.

The one thing that I took away from this video is the different transitions. They have this simple way of transitioning from one frame to the next with a blue glow, which I think is a very simple, yet effective way to move from scene to scene. This is the visual goal that i will be trying to achieve.

One of the things that I liked about this motion design example was the simple movements. I plan on my design having a similar visual message. I don't want the movement to be too overwhelming. I would like for there to be very simple moving elements. That way all of the words can be highlighted whether than drowned out.

This simple animation is encapsulating the visual personality that I would like my design to have. I want there to be an overall cohesive style with the way things are illustrations throughout the video like this one. The way all the different figures look so similar but so different is what i'm going for.

Once again this is another animation showing the visual personality that I am trying to achieve. I think the way that there are subtle colors used against the grey figures will help with repeating elements so that they will be noticed between the different scenes.

Week2A

Today in class we worked in groups in order to narrow down the Concept and the style that we will be going with this animation. The main concept that I will be going with is the idea of having a major contrast between the new age vs the old. I think Really highlighting this will help give emphasis on what the speaker I saying.

Out of the two files I decided to go with the second one. While listening to the second one I could in vision some of the things that I would start to do for the project.
